Tales for Tots (Ages 1-3 With An Adult)
Stories come to life during each three-part series where toddlers and their adults explore the world of various tales through engaging songs, interactive play, unique crafts, and live animal encounters! This class is designed to be a transitional experience into preschool. Class fee is for one child and one accompanying adult. Additional children require separate registration; activities are designed to target 1 to 3 year-olds only.
Wild Science (Ages 4 to 6)
Each class includes interactive discussions, inquiry-based activities, a visit from one of our animal ambassadors, and more! Join us for a class full of discovery and play! This is a children’s drop-off program; however, parents are welcome to participate.
Junior Keepers (Ages 7-9)
Our zoo crew does it all and you can too! Zoologists are scientists too as you will learn when you practice your zookeeping skills. This is a drop-off program.
Zoo U-niversity (Ages 10-13)
Zookeepers do much more than feed, water and scoop scat. The series will train future Zookeepers with the scientific skills of problem-solving, emergency engineering, critical thinking, experimentation and enrichment creation while solving zoo mysteries. This is a drop-off program.
Teen Paint Night (Ages 13 to 17)
Animal art class for teenagers. Food, music, live animal encounters and instruction while the participants paint a portrait of the star animal of the night. Snacks and beverages will be included. This is a drop-off program.
Paint Night At The Zoo (Ages 18+)
Animal art classes for adults. Food, drinks, music, live animal encounters and instruction while the participants paint a portrait of the star animal of the night. Snacks and beverages will be included. This is an adults-only program.
Sensational Seniors (Ages 50+)
If you like Senior Safari, you are going to love being a “Sensational Senior”. This monthly class includes mini walking tours, live animal encounters, animal-enrichment crafts, activities, door prizes and our “Beautiful & Basic Breakfast Bar”. This class encourages community seniors to become Happy Hollow Ambassadors as they socialize, exercise and learn at their new “wild” hangout.
REFUND & TRANSFER POLICY
Refund and transfer requests need to be made in writing. Refunds and transfers will be given for requests received at least 14 calendar days prior to the start of the program/class. No refunds or transfers will be made for cancellations received by the City less than 14 calendar days prior to the start of the program/class. There will be a $10 refund processing fee for each activity.
The City of San Jose’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services encourages and supports the participation of individuals with all ability levels in programs and services. The City of San Jose’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services’ Citywide Scholarship Program will ensure that residents of the City of San Jose in need have access to department programs, classes, and activities. All requests are subject to available funding and qualifications. Submit completed application to any Community Center.
