Happy Hollow has been accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) for over 25 years — a testimony of our commitment to the advancement of zoos, aquariums, science and nature centers in the areas of conservation, animal welfare, education, science, and recreation.
In our increasingly digital world, unplugging is more important than ever. Being outdoors makes you healthier and happier, and San Jose’s beloved park and zoo provides a safe and scenic environment to let your imagination relax — or run wild.
Families that ride together laugh together! Happy Hollow is home to a variety of family-friendly rides and attractions to keep the glee going all day long. The iconic Danny the Dragon train has delighted visitors since 1961, and the Keep-Around Carousel is a favorite fan photo spot!
Happy Hollow Park & Zoo is home to one of the oldest and best-attended puppet theaters in California. Guests at Happy Hollow also enjoy occasional encounters with costume characters Danny the Dragon, Captain Conservation and Petal the Fairy. Meanwhile, the Crooked Meadow stage features seasonal shows and performances. Children ages 6 to 10 can also attend summer camps to learn the art of puppetry and acting behind the scenes at Happy Hollow.
Happy Hollow is dedicated to helping save species and preserve wildlife for future generations by participating in Species Survival Plan programs. Every ticket and membership contributes to Quarters for Conservation which funds local wildlife conservation and research, as well as support for threatened and endangered animals across the globe.
